Kids, come and join our Be a Hero, Read! program on July 1. At 10:00am we have a pre-k through grade 2 program about Tall Tales with stories, activities and a craft. In the afternoon, from 1:30-3:00pm we will host a talent show for children grades 3-6. Bring your talent, props, costumes and your family. Every Wednesday we will have activities throughout the day until August 5th. Don't miss it!
Children's Story Hour continues every Tuesday from 10:00-11:00am. Our theme for July is "Starry Nights". We will enjoy story time, finger plays, a take home craft project and snacks. Come join us for the fun! This is a great way to spend summer days with children.
On Sunday, July 12 at 2:00pm – Roberta Harold will discuss the many fascinating tidbits of history she found while writing her novel, Heron Island.
We welcome reviews of books you have read. We will put your review on display with the book. Children's picture reviews are also welcome. Some are on display already!
Wish list: if anyone has electric hedge trimmers or landscaping tools they would like to donate to the library, please contact Phyllis at 375-6153. We are still in need of volunteers to manage our landscaping.
There's still time to visit the Canfield Gallery to see Vermont landscapes by Bennington water color artist Tony Connor. His lovely watercolors will be on display until June 30. And coming in July, photographs by Matthew Paul Lerman, who is also a professor of biology, marine ecology and oceanography. Lerman's show opens July 3, with an opening reception Saturday, July 11, 3:00-5:00pm.
