    • Motion to approve minutes from last annual meeting was made by Sheila – seconded by Laura, motion carried unanimously.

Treasurer’s Report (summary of 2021):

  • Denise filed year-end financial statements and a 2022 budget
  • Denise reported that 2021 was a good year.  We ended with a surplus of $2,883.
  • David asked about Budget vs. Actual in the Gallery heading.  He noted that there was a donation from a Garden Club member.  It was determined that this would not be reflected on these reports.
  • Sheila asked about the Stimulus Loan being a liability.  This was forgiven and she did not expect it to be on the balance sheet.  Denise said it should not be there and will review it.  She later presented a balance sheet for January 2022 (instead of January 2021) that showed the loan was no longer listed as a liability)
  • Denise will continue with the reports until a new Treasurer is found.
  • No news about the Finance Committee with Brian absent.

Librarian’s Report (summary of 2021):

  • Phyllis has filed a written report.  Some highlights are below
  • The library was closed early in the year and reopened following state guidelines.  Fully opened again July.
  • Programming was limited due to Covid.
  • Active shooter policy was drafted.  Bill headed this up.
  • Got ARPA grant for libraries (>$6,000).
  • Received grant from Berkshire Bank again
  • Partnered with Summer Lunch Program again
  • Book sale opened in August with a new group of volunteers.  It did fairly well this year.
  • Advocates hosted the basket raffle and craft show again
  • Holly has completed final course for being a certified librarian in VT.

Russell Collection Report (summary of 2021):

  • Bill also submitted a written report
  • Statistics were up from last year (as with the library as a whole)
  • About 10 major donations throughout the year.
  • One query from Finland and one from Quebec.

Annual Fund

  • Denise reported that the annual fund numbers were doing well.
  • We collected over $42,000 in 2021.

Martha’s Book House

  • Opened in August and did well for the short season

Advocates Group

  • Group kept active.
  • Craft fair and basket raffle were successful.
  • Norm’s attic tag sale raised $381.

  • Programming is still tricky.  The remote sessions were generally not well attended.
  • Hoping to do more this year and more in-person.
  • Try to do some outdoor programs in the summer.
